An integrated aquaponics farm on Royal Bafokeng Nation land — producing fresh fish and vegetables 365 days a year, while creating 7 direct jobs for the Photsaneng community.
Aquaponics combines fish farming (aquaculture) with soilless plant growing (hydroponics) in a single, self-sustaining system. Fish produce waste that naturally fertilises plants. Plants clean the water for fish. Nothing is wasted — everything feeds everything else.
Our farm will produce catfish and tilapia alongside high-value leafy greens, operating 365 days a year using 90% less water than conventional farming — with zero chemical fertilizers.
Every position prioritises Balekoje of Kgotla ya Lekoje — and Bafotsana of Photsaneng broadly. 50% women employment target. Wages above minimum. Skills that transfer beyond this farm.
Beyond jobs, 5% of every harvest goes directly to a community feeding programme — every Friday, distributed through a dignified voucher system to disadvantaged residents.
This is not a charity. It is a commercially structured farm with secured market relationships, conservative financial projections, and a clear path to profitability. The community impact is the reason the project exists — the numbers prove it can sustain itself.
